Dayna madison releases new single “light a fire”

Khrissy: Thank you for sharing your new single with our platform: What city/area do you represent- where are you from?

Dayna: I’m from La Mirada, CA

Khrissy: Does your upbringing have any influence in your music background?

Dayna: Of course! I had a good mix of musical influences! Between hearing old R&B during a Sunday morning cleaning, hearing EDM music at school with my peers from Orange County, and having a very musically gifted family - I would say I was influenced by some of the best music I could’ve asked for.

Khrissy: Your new single "Light A Fire" is a breath of fresh air, it's a blend of AfroBeat’s and R&B: Walk us through the creative process of the record?

Dayna: Light A Fire was actually supposed to be a record used for synch. But as we were in the studio, we realized how much of a vibe the song actually was. We knew we were creating a fun summer record. We started with a really cool beat that I couldn’t help but move to and laid down some vocals. One of my favorite parts of recording that song were the backgrounds in the hook. We layered my vocals and my writers vocals until it sounded like a whole crowd of people in the booth with me at the same time.

Khrissy: Can you please share credits: Producers, co-writers and anyone else that was a part of the process of making the record?

Dayna: The beat was cooked up by an insane producer. Her name is Octavia Landix. The record was co-written by myself and Andre Writer.

Khrissy: Why is "Dance Music" important to you? Light A Fire is just that....

Dayna: I’ve been a dancer since I was 3 years old so I’ve always felt that dance can really heal people. It’s a way to express your emotions, release tension, and just let loose. I feel that a lot of our generation doesn’t dance for fun anymore and I want to bring that back into our community.

Khrissy: What makes your voice so unique and diverse in your space-describe your sound?

Dayna: I’m able to use my voice to create certain types of energy. Whether I’m making high energy house music or a sensual R&B record, I get to tap in to different parts of my inner self and use my voice to express those parts of me. I would say my voice is definitely strong but soft and melodic at the same time.

Khrissy: What's the takeaway you want your fans to get from this record?

Dayna: It’s okay to just want to get up and dance. This is a song that you don’t have to think to hard about. If my fans want a good time, Light A Fire is what you should be listening to!

Khrissy: What can we expect next? List any shows, appearances, music etc.

Dayna: I’ll be performing on October 24th at Los Globos at the Shaqo and Friends Show with , Rucci, Jayson Cash and India Love!

Khrissy: How can we stay in touch and in the loop? Drop all social handles

Dayna: You can find me EVERYWHERE at @_daymadison
